The bellows of the protef® expansion joints are manufactured with paste extruded seamless PTFE tube in compliance to FDA Par. 21-177.1550 (conductive version on request) molded under pressure and temperature, ensuring no damages to the bellow.
The protef® expansion joints are available with 3 convolutions in the Standard Duty type (5 convolution available on request) , in the High Vacuum type (with additional internal rings) and in the Heavy Duty type. There is a special armored type available with 7 to 12 convolution bellows with SS316L external shell. All our protef® expansion joints are complete with stainless steel 304L reinforcing ring, lifted at the root of the corrugations and with No. 3 steel (A- 42) tie-rods, in order to restrict axial and transversal movements.
The protef® expansion joints can be supplied with carbon steel (stainless steel available on request) ANSI or DIN flanges drilled to mate with PN 10, PN 16 or AISI 150 components.
When connected to PTFE/PFA lined pipework, gaskets are not needed.
The protef® expansion joints are CE marked according to PED directive 97/23/CE.
Special versions with metallic external protection, with stainless steel wire movement limiters and other customized are available on request.
